Cone Snail

If you thought a snail could never be on this list, you couldn't have been more wrong. The Cone Snail, a native to the warm waters around Indonesia, Hawaii, and the Caribbean, this deceptively beautiful gastropod is known for its marbled brown and white shells. But dive deeper to touch it and it could be the last time you go swimming at any beach. Once threatened, these snails 'bite' using their concealed teeth which pumps a venom called conotoxin into the bloodstream. The worst part about it is that there is no antivenom for the bite and it could kill a human at the same time it takes to smoke a cigarette - hence the nickname "cigarette snail".
