Recent years have seen a dramatic increase in mental health awareness amongst people. Psychologists say that some of these situations can be avoided by ensuring that we take care of ourselves. The increased pressure and competitiveness can harm your health in more ways than you realize!
If you find that you are generally exhausted, cranky and don’t wake up feeling refreshed, you might be overworked and need some serious me-time!
What is Self-Care?
Self-care is simply taking care of one’s self. It is the practice of taking charge in order to preserve and improve one’s own health, happiness, and well-being. Self-Care focuses not just on physical body needs but also replenishes the mind and the soul, leaving you happy, healthy and energetic!
Most people only turn to self-care during periods of high stress (mental, physical or emotional) or burnouts. However, studies show that people who engage in regular self-care tend to find themselves in a better place to handle these high-stress situations and have lower chances of burnout than those who do not.
We understand that not everyone can afford to take out a couple of hours or even an hour daily with their hectic schedules. This is why we’ve come up with a self-care list for those of you who can’t make as much time daily but still want to be in your best health!
