Even though Taapsee Pannu starrer Thappad affected the Ayushmann Khurrana starrer Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan and Vicky Kaushal starrer Bhoot at the box office, both films trended well in the second weekend.

Ayushmann Khurrana starrer Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan, earned good user reviews as per BookMyShow.com which helped the film perform well in its 1st weekend. Due to the niche subject, the earnings went down on the weekdays and minted at the lower end, summing the first week total to Rs 44.84 crore.
Due to the new release, Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan dropped to Rs 2.08 crore on second Friday but grew on second Saturday with Rs 3.25 crore followed by Rs 4.05 crore on second Sunday, bringing the 10 days total to Rs 54.20-54.50 crore crossing the budget which is Rs 50 crore (Production cost is Rs 40 crore, Printing & Advertising is Rs 10 crore). Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhaan is directed by Hitesh Kewalya and produced by Aanand L Rai and T-Series films.
Directed by debutant Bhanu Pratap Singh, Bhoot is produced by Dharma Productions along with Shashank Khaitaan and Apoorv Mehta. Also starring Vikcy Kaushal and Bhumi Pednekar, Bhoot got good user reviews as per BookMyShow.com but collected decent amount of Rs 24.18 crore from 2000 screens in first week.
Bhoot dropped on second Friday with Rs 1.02 crore and showed slight growth on second Saturday with Rs 1.68 crore and Rs 2.18 crore bringing the 10 days total to Rs 29-29.50 crore. The budget of Bhoot is Rs 30 Crore (Production Cost: 20 Crore, Prints & Advertising Cost: 10 Crore)
