Dream Girl continued to rock as it becomes the highest grossing film of Ayushmann Khurrana beating Article 15 while Akshaye Khanna starrer Section 375 dropped at box office on Wednesday.
Ayushmann Khurrana and Nushrat Bharucha starrer Dream Girl continued to have a dream run at the box office on the week days.
After Article 15 this year, Ayushmann Khurrana’s second film, Dream Girl, got appreciated by both critics and audience and opened to an occupancy of 30% in the morning shows across India with Rs 10.05 crore.
Directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa, the collections of Dream Girl picked up on the second day with Rs 16.42 crores followed by a superb growth on Sunday with Rs 18.85 crore. The earnings held well on the first weekdays as the comedy drama collected Rs 7.43 crore followed by Rs 7.40 crore on Tuesday. As per early estimates, the earnings held very well on Wednesday between Rs 6.50-7 crore, bringing the five days total to Rs 66-67 crore and lifetime total of Article 15 (Rs 65.50 crore) within 6 days of release. Directed by Ajay Bahl, who earlier made B.A Pass, Section 375 got better reviews than Dream Girl. Though it is facing the previous week’s superstar, Chhichhore and Dream Girl, it is doing well at the box office.
Section 375 opened to a dull response on the first day and collected between Rs 1.45 crore on its first day but showed an amazing growth by 112% on the second day with Rs 3.07 crore. The collections grew further by Rs 3.52 crore on Sunday. The earnings dropped to Rs 75 lakhs on Monday. There was a good hold on Tuesday with Rs 75 lakhs. As per early estimates, there was a good hold on Wednesday with Rs 67 lakh, bringing the total collections to Rs 10.21 crore. The budget of Section 375 is Rs 20 crore.
