As the biggest film of Indian cinema released yesterday, there were will plenty of comparison between Rajinkanth and Akshay Kumar starrer 2.0 and Prabhas starrer Baahubali 2. Let us see which film earned more on its first day at the box office in Bollywood.
The Hindi version of 2.0 has opened to a solid 65-70% occupancy in the morning shows on its first day while the non-Hindi version has been fabulous in South India with 90-95% occupancy. In North India, 2.0 ahead of films like Race 3 (55-60%), Baaghi 2 (45-50%), Sanju (55-60%) and Thugs of Hindostan (40-60%) in terms of morning show occupancy and this was a non-holiday release.
2.0 opened to Rs 25+ crores in the Hindi version while it collected Rs 60-75 crores in the Tamil and Telgu version bringing the overall collections to Rs 85-100 crores (awaiting the final numbers). The budget of 2.0 is estimated to be around Rs 543 crores (including the production cost and printing & advertising cost). The reviews of 2.0 has been good with audience and critics praising about the visual effects implemented in the film.
On the other hand, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion is the only film to touch the figure of Rs 121 crores on its first day, out of which Rs 41 crores came from the Hindi version and Rs 80 crores came from the other languages. With international artist working hard on CGI, 2.0 shall do well at the Overseas market and might challenge Baahubali 2: The Conclusion.
