October is considered to be a good month as it comprises of the most number of holidays which makes it lucrative for the makers to release their films. While big budgeted films like WAR and Housefull 4 have broken records, mediums budgeted films like The Sky Is Pink and Laal Kaptaan failed at the box office.
After giving super-hit film in form of Super 30, Hrithik Roshan transformed himself into Kabir, a spy who went rogue killing people coming his way. Tiger Shroff, as Khalid, took on the fight to stop him and the clash between them was well-received by the audience who were witnessing two major action stars coming together for first time on silver screen. WAR turned out to be blockbuster, breaking records and is still running in theaters, collected Rs 315 crore (and still counting) against a budget of Rs 150 crore.
Sye Raa Narsimha Reddy-2nd October
While WAR dominated the multiplexes and mass circuit in the North and Central India, Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy dominated the Southern region. However, the Chiranjeevi and Amitabh Bachchan starrer failed to click in the Hindi version. Met with average reviews, Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy collected a poor Rs 10 crore.
The Sky Is Pink- 11th October
The Priyanka Chopra, Farhan Akhtar and Zaira Wasim starrer The Sky Is Pink opened on a poor note across leading multiplexes in India at the box office. Priyanka Chopra returned to the silver screen after giving admiring performances in Jai Gangaajal. Though reviews of The Sky Is Pink were good, the family drama film managed to collect just Rs 14 crore against a budget of Rs 30 crore.
Laal Kaptaan- 18th October
Supported by Eros International and Aanand L Rai, Laal Kaptaan was supposed to be an experimental film.
