3rd Day Box Office Report – Poor Weekend For Prassthanam, The Zoya Factor And Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas

This is probably one of most disastrous weekend for Bollywood as Sonam Kapoor and Dulquer Salman starrer The Zoya Factor, Karan Deol and Sahher Bambba starrer Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas And multi-starrer Prassthanam was given a no-show tag at the box office.

The Zoya Factor

The Zoya Factor is the second floor film of the year for Sonam Kapoor after Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga. Based on the popular book of same name, The Zoya Factor opened to just 5-10% occupancy across India, collecting just Rs 85 lakhs on first day. The Sonam Kapoor and Dulquer Salman starrer could not do much on the second day and ended with just Rs 90 lakhs. There was hardly any growth on Sunday with a poor Rs 1 crore, bringing the 3 days total to an embarrassing Rs 2.75 crore. The budget of Zoya Factor is 30 Crore (Production Cost: 20 Crore & Prints & Advertising Cost: 10 Crore) and will be the worst opening weekend collection film for Sonam Kapoor.

Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas

Directed by Sunny Deol, Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas marks the debut of his son Karan Deol and Sahher Vambba and was the best of the 3 films released this week. Met by bad reviews, Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas opened at 5% occupancy in the morning shows and ending the first day with Rs 1.20 crore. There was a growth of around 34% on second day but not enough to put a grand total with Rs 1.60 crore.

The film picked up slightly towards the end of the weekend and minted Rs 1.75 crore, bringing the 3 days total to Rs 4.55 crore. The budget of Karan Deol and Sahher Bambba starrer Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas is Rs 30 crore and will be a colossal disaster.

Prassthanam

Prassthanam stars Sanjay Dutt, Ali Fazal, Manisha Koirala and Jackie Shroff. Despite, the big star cast, the political drama opened to a bad response, somewhere between to 5-10% occupancy. It got some traction from the mass circuit and ended its first day collections with Rs 1 crore.

There was a slight jump on second day with Rs 1.15 crore but showed limited growth on third day with just Rs 1.25 crore, summing up total to Rs 3.40 crore. The budget of Prassthatham is Rs 40 crore. Chhichhore and Dream Girl remained the first choice for the audience this week.
