The Marathi film industry is one such, which boasts of some truly outstanding movies that haven’t got due recognition either due to language barrier or small marketing budget. Based in Maharashtra, the industry is one of the pioneers in filmmaking in India. Not known to many, but India’s first full-length feature film – ‘Raja Harishchandra’, directed by Dadasaheb Phalke, was a Marathi film.
