According to Entrepreneur Magazine, women own 10.6 million businesses in the United States. They employ 19.1 million workers and their businesses account for $2.5 trillion in sales.
Even with these impressive numbers, women entrepreneurs are still a minority in the Western world. The numbers drop even lower when it comes to India, with only 14 percent business establishments in the country are being run by female entrepreneurs according to the National Sample Survey Organisation (NSSO).
