An 80-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murdering a 76-year-old woman in a house in Essex.
Police have today identified the victim as Janet Lewis, who was found with stab wounds to her neck on Sunday 1 September. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
An 80 year-old man was also found inside the property with serious injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.
He remains in hospital and has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
Detectives are not looking for anyone else in connection with Ms Lewis’s death.
Officers were to an address in Padgetts Way, Hullbridge, at around 1.50pm on Sunday 1 September.
A resident told Essex Live: “We were in the garden with family when we heard all the sirens so I ran outside straight away. There were seven cars here but they all had two officers in them.
"There has never been any problems from them before, we are in complete shock."
