Aamir Khan brought in his 54th birthday in the presence of media. He held a press conference like every year and cut a cake. The actor answered several questions on varied topics and also made a huge announcement that all had been waiting for; his upcoming project which is an official remake of Tom Hanks’ Forrest Gump.
The movie will be directed by Advait Chandan, the director of Secret Superstar and will be titled as Lal Singh Chaddha. Said Aamir, “Uska naam hai Lal Singh Chaddha. It's being made by Viacom and Aamir Khan Productions together. Iske director honge Advait Chandan, jinhone banayi thi Secret Superstar. Ek angrezi film ayi thi, Hollywood film, Forrest Gump, uska adaptation hai, we have bought the rights from Paramount.”
When asked on being compared to Tom Hanks, he said, “I don't see much similarity but all say we look similar..maybe our eyes and energy level is similar. I have been trying to get the rights of Forest Gump adaptation for 8 years.” Furthermore, he said, “We are still on a recce for it, but it will be in India, Punjab, all the North side.” Forrest Gump is based on a 1986 novel that starred Robin Wright, Gary Sinise, Mykelti Williamson and Saly Field.

To concentrate on this project, Aamir didn’t collaborate with Netflix for the web series based on the life of spiritual leader, Osho. SpotboyE.com had exclusively revealed details about the same. The actor couldn’t accommodate dates for the project as he wanted to focus his energies on Lal Singh Chaddha.
