If you ever watched Sesame Street, then you must know of a figure called the Cookie Monster. This video features another cookie monster, albeit much more adorable but stealthy like a ninja. A three-year-girl named Ella managed to recover the cookies so smartly hidden by her mother. Given the daughter’s small size, the mother hid the cookies in a cabinet above an over 5ft10 refrigerator, out of sight. But it wasn’t out of mind, as the little girl who can compete withTom Cruise for stunts, not only found the cookies but also did a little celebratory dance.
The video has “when I try to hide the cookies” written on the top left corner. The little girl paces toward the fridge and jumps onto the machine like a ninja. Then using the door handles, she lifts herself up. She finds a foothold on the outer water and ice dispenser on one of the double doors with her other foot scaling the long door handles. She’s finally at a height where she can reach up to the cabinet door. She retrieves a zip-lock bag with cookies in it, gently closes back the cabinet doors. Like firemen in a station, she glides down the door handles with practised precision.
According to Daily Mail, the video was first shared on Tik-Tok where it raked in over 15 million views! The woman had shared another video on the same platform where she elaborated on how the little girl “has been climbing her whole life” on various surfaces.
The video picked up popularity once again when Twitter celebrity Rex Chapman shared it on his profile and said it was the “Cutest thing you’ll see all day…”
So far, it has over 7 lakh views on the microblogging platform. However, the response here was mixed as best as many expressed concerns over the video.
It ranged from concerns of hygiene (the girl’s foot was inside the water dispenser) to safety (she could have injured herself). Some tried to defend the parents that they wouldn’t let anything happen but others said it was just for a viral video.
