I Love New Remixes: Raveena Tandon on ‘Tip Tip Barsa Paani’ Remake

Bollywood actors Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif have officially kicked off the shoot for Rohit Shetty’s upcoming entertainer Sooryavanshi. According to reports, the duo are in Hyderabad for a month-long shoot schedule which includes a romantic number. Moreover, the romantic number will reportedly be a recreation of the iconic song ‘Tip Tip Barsa Paani’’.

Now, Raveena Tandon has spoken up about this remake. “It sounds superb. I love new remixes”, she told SpotBoye.

Earlier, Akshay had tweeted saying he’s happy to be recreating the song himself. He wrote, “I would’ve definitely been disappointed if any other actor would’ve recreated Tip Tip Barsa Paani,a song which has been synonymous with me & my career & I can’t thank Ratan Jain ji enough. At times like these you realize,we may have come a long way but we also go back a long way.”

Tip Tip Barsa Paani originally featured Akshay Kumar and Raveena Tandon frolicking around in the rain. Raveena, in the original song, dons a gorgeous yellow chiffon sari.

Twitter Not Pleased

As Akshay wrote that the song has been synonymous with him and forgot to mention Raveena Tandon, twitterati wasted no time in clearing his misconception. While some fans politely reminded the actor that Raveena too was in the song, some blatantly said that they don’t remember Akshay being in the song!

Have a look.

Someone even compared Akshay’s tweet to MS Dhoni’s performance in the India v. Afghanistan CWC match, and said, “ Akshay Kumar getting credit for Tip Tip Barsa Pani's success is like Dhoni getting credit for Shami's hat-trick.”

According to reports, Rohit Shetty will not be creating a new set for the song. He is all set to use the original setting of the song to retain its authenticity. In fact, Katrina too in the song will be wearing an identical yellow sari.

Sooryavanshi will mark the reunion of Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif after almost a decade, as they were least seen together in De Dana Dan. It will be co-produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and is the fourth film in Rohit’s cop universe Singham, Singham 2 and Simmba.
