2019 turned out to be quite a fruitful year for Amit Sadh. His cameo in the much successful ‘Super 30’ was noticed and appreciated by the large number of people who saw the film. It was his only outing on the big screen last year and it turned out to be a memorable one. What also attracted a huge audience, on a different vertical, was his intense act in ‘Barot House’, the web film.
‘Barot House’ premiered on the Zee5 app and garnered largely positive reviews from all quarters. As the actor himself admitted in many interviews, it was one of the toughest roles he had played till date and he went a few extra miles to make sure that he did complete justice to the character.
In an interview with this writer, he had stated, “As human beings, all of us have an animal inside us. It depends on how you tap into it and channelize it to do something productive. At the end of the day, you want to do something that strikes a chord with people to see something and moves them in some way or the other. Shooting for ‘Barot House’ was physically and mentally exhausting. But, when I see the love that it has received, I feel it was worth it.”
Now, he is all set to announce his arrival in 2020 with a bang, quite literally! ‘Operation Parindey’, the actor’s first project this year is touted to be an action thriller based on a jailbreak incident which shook the system. Like ‘Barot House’, this is also a web film and will be streamed exclusively on Zee5.
In the show, Amit will be seen playing Abhinav Mathur, a fearless Special Task Force officer who is hell bent on capturing the six prisoners that have escaped from the jail and are a threat to national security. As he plays a cop on a mission, he will be seen indulging in some heavy duty action sequences. Though he had played a cop in ‘Breathe’, his character has been presented in a completely different way from the one he portrayed in the show.
After starting the year with this action thriller, the actor will be seen in the second season of ‘Breathe’ and another action-based show titled ‘Avrodh’. While all these projects are for the digital space, he will be seen on the big screen playing Shakuntala Devi’s son-in-law in the biopic of the same name headlined by Vidya Balan.
Operation Parindey starts streaming on the Zee5 app from 7 March, 2020.
