Who can we blame for this? Was it George Osborne? We bet George Osborne had a hand in this.

According to a report by The Guardian, in London there were 19,845 homes sitting empty for more than six months in 2016, which amounted to £9.4billion worth of property, with the average house price in the capital an entirely, totally, very reasonable £474,704.

Outside of our great capital, Birmingham was the worst affected city, with 4,397 empty homes worth an estimated £956million, followed by Bradford and Liverpool.
