Gourav has been nominated along with celebrated international stars — Riz Ahmed for Sound Of Metal, late Chadwick Boseman for Ma Rainey's Black Bottom, Mads Mikkelsen for Another Round, Anthony Hopkins for The Father, and Tahar Rahim for The Mauritanian.

After earning the honor, Gourav was shocked.

"I went blank when I read the first message," he told Indian Express.

Chopra, who is lauded for her achievements, saw the nominations as a win for Indian talent.

Longlist: Chopra was also being considered for a nomination

In February, the longlist for BAFTAs was released and The White Tiger featured in a number of categories, including the Best Film, Best Cinematography, and Best Editing.

Chopra's performance as Pinky made to the Best Supporting Actress longlist.

The movie is an adaptation of Aravind Adiga's book by the same name. It was first published in 2008 and won the 40th Man Booker Prize.

Details: The movie had released in January

The movie had released on Netflix on January 13, 2021, and received mixed reviews.

In the movie, Gourav's character Balram Halwai is shown as a poor driver, who gains the confidence of his bosses Ashok (Rao) and Pinky (Chopra).

However, an unfortunate road accident forces Balram to rebel and script his own destiny. His entrepreneurial journey made for an interesting watch.
