It is time to pop up champagne as Ayushhmann Khurrana, Bhumi Pednekar and Yami Gautam starrer Bala opened the 3rd weekend box office with an achievement as it crosses the 100 crore club on 3rd Friday.
Ayushmann Khurrana, Bhumi Pednekar and Yami Gautam starrer Bala garnered glowing reviews which led to an amazing first week collections at Rs 72.24 crore and a good second week collections with Rs 26.56 crore. The comedy drama faced solid competition from Pagalpanti which led to a drop on third Friday but was stable at the ticket window.
Amar Kaushik, who earlier made Stree, scored his second 100 crore film as Bala collected Rs 1.35 crore on third Friday, bringing the total to Rs 100.15 crore.
Bala is now the third film of Ayushmann Khurrana to enter 100 crore after Badhaai Ho and Dream Girl, third film of Yami Gautam after Kaabil and Uri: The Surgical Strike and second film of Bhumi Pednekar after Toilet Ek Prem Katha.
Bala is produced by Dinesh Vijan and tells the story of a balding prematurely guy and a dusky girl and their frustration with the fair-skinned dominated society. There will be a big competition from the multi-starrer Pagalpanti which releases today.
