The Ayushhmann Khurrana, Bhumi Pednekar and Yami Gautam starrer Bala held well on Thursday as it crossed the lifetime collections of Tiger Shroff starrer Student Of The Year 2 in just 7 days at the box office.
Ayushmann Khurrana delivered his third hit film of the year as Bala completed the first week run on a grand note.
Directed by Amar Kaushik, who earlier made Stree, Bala stars Bhumi Pednekar and Yami Gautam in key roles and has received some of the best reviews as per BookMyShow.com. Bala became the highest grossing film of Ayushmann Khurrana with Rs 10.15 crore beating previous record of Dream Girl (Rs 10.05 crore). The comedy drama show an amazing growth on the second day with collections some where between Rs 15.73 crore. The earnings were even better on Sunday with Rs 18.07 crore. There was a solid hold on Monday with Rs 8.52 crore while the collections shot up on Tuesday with Rs 9.52 crore due to the Guru Purab holiday. There was a big drop on Wednesday with Rs 5.20 crore.
As per early estimates, Bala held well on Thursday, minting some where between Rs 4.5-5 crore. With this, the six days collections of Bala stands at Rs 72-73 crore and surpassed the lifetime collections of Tiger Shroff starrer Student Of The Year 2 which collected Rs 70.18 crore, to become the 20th highest grossing film of the 2019.
Bala is produced by Dinesh Vijan and tells the story of a balding prematurely guy and a dusky girl and their frustration with the fair-skinned dominated society.
Bala is made on a budget Rs 45 crore (Production Cost: 35 Crore, Prints & Advertising Cost: 10 Crore) and has released in 3000 screens in India.
