Best places for breakfast in Kolkata

From kachoris to parathas and quiches to momos, Kolkata has a lot to offer for breakfast. Conveniently, we’ve listed out some of the best places for breakfast in Kolkata. Shall we begin?

Raj Spanish Café, New Market Area
You may take some time to locate this hole-in-the-wall café on Sudder Street, but don’t let its basic ambience put you off. Raj Spanish Café serves great breakfast starting at eight every morning. It also happens to have a small outdoor seating area that comes to life in the evenings when the fairy lights go up. Its backpacker vibe also means it may not necessarily lend itself to big family breakfasts (although it’s so small you can totally take over the entire café if you arrive at an appropriate time). Raj Spanish Café serves a host of dishes and breakfast platters to choose from, so you’ll never run out of options.

Flurys, Park Street Area
No Kolkata restaurants list can ever be complete without Flury’s. The legendary teahouse in the heart of Park Street is best known for its English breakfast, but, also, really everything else. Try their chocolate boats, chicken patties and, of course, rum balls, and not to mention croissants, quiches, and croissants.

The Biker’s Café, Elgin Road
The Biker’s Café ambience may not necessarily have much to do with its theme, but it’s fairly reliable when it comes to serving food for the soul. Think club sandwiches, burgers, a hearty American breakfast…something that will keep you fuelled up if you’ve set out on a long ride over the weekend. The Biker’s Café opens its doors at 7.30 am, which makes it the perfect pitstop before you head out for that ride.
