With a vaccine on the horizon and Boris Johnson promising life could be back to normal (whatever that is) by spring, booking a holiday suddenly feels like an extremely good idea.
We’ve been all about staycations this year (and we’ll be booking more), but we’d by lying if we said we hadn’t missed the beaches, sunshine, food and sunset cocktails of a trip abroad and what better time to snag a bargain getaway than Black Friday (November 27)?
Travel companies are getting in on the Black Friday action this year and offering everything from bargain flights to cheap packages, so we're rounding up the best Black Friday holiday deals 2019 to save you some pennies.
Ahead of the big day, we're here to help you find the best Black Friday travel deals by updating this article as they come in. Here's what we know so far:
Best Black Friday travel deals 2020
According to Skyscanner, Black Friday flight deals are usually around 11-12% less than usual flight prices, but easyJet’s fall lower. From today [Wednesday 25 November] it’s selling 350,000 seats from as little as £24.99, valid for travel between Dec 10 - June 20, 2021. Not only that, it’s also offering customers £100 off holidays costing over £1000. Use promo code BF100.
Virgin Experience Days
The brand is offering travel and experiences deals all week, such as a three-night glamping in a posh pod at Langstone Manor in Devon offer, which is now £180 down from £270. It might take a bit of scouting around, but you're bound to find something you like on site.
Rebranding Black Friday as Pink Friday, but basically still offering the same major discounts as other travel companies, lastminute.com has some good savings. We particularly like the gift voucher with a 50% discount (code PINKFRIDAY50), which is available until November 30 and means you can double your money - perfect for Christmas presents, or a nice treat to yourself.
Alternatively, you can get a discount when you buy a holiday - eg a four-night trip to Hotel Brancamaria in Sardinia in May now costs just £209pp including flights and breakfast plus there’s free cancellation.
Contemporary guided tour company for 18-35s Contiki is offering up to 30% off selected trips for travel between March 12 - October 31, 2022, but you have to book by December 3 this year. We’re very much interested in the Viva Costa Rica nine-day Costa Rica guided trip with surfing, rainforests, volcanoes and diving, which is £1095pp as part of the Black Friday roll out.
Tech-smart, minimalist, Japanese-inspired hotel chain YOTEL has a 40% discount on all stays throughout 2021 if you book now. This means you could stay at hotels in London, Glasgow, Amsterdam, New York, Istanbul, Dubai, Porto, Miami and Geneva for as little as £45pn. A genuine bargain.
Book a stay at a lovely Malmaison hotel (locations options include Aberdeen, Cheltenham, Belfast, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Brighton, Leeds, Newcastle, Liverpool, London, Manchester, Reading, Oxford and York) between December 1, 2020 and Feb 11 2021 and a two-course dinner and glass of Prosecco is thrown in too as part of the chain’s Black Friday package from £99.
Running deals all week, we’ve got our eye on a 20% saving on four nights at the five-star Grecotel Eva Palace in Corfu, which now costs from £242pp including flights and meals. Check out the beach and pool, swoon.
