Frank Churchill was an American film composer. He wrote most of the music for the first animated movie, Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937), including Heigh-Ho, Whistle While You Work, and Some Day My Prince Will Come. Other Disney films that he worked on include Dumbo, Bambi, and The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr Toad.
Churchill began his career playing piano in cinemas at the age of 15. He joined Disney in 1930 and after Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs became a huge success, he was made the supervisor of music at Disney.
Thomas Earl Petty was an American singer, songwriter and record producer. He was the lead singer of ‘Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers’. In 1988, he joined George Harrison’s group, ‘Traveling Wilburys’. Petty was known to be assertive on artistic freedom. In 1979, when ABC records was sold to MCA Records, he refused to be transferred to a different record label without his consent.
In 2002, Petty was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He died of a cardiac arrest on 2 October 2017 , aged 66.
Virender Sehwag is a retired Indian cricketer and former captain. In April 2009, Sehwag became the only Indian to be honoured as the Wisden Leading Cricketer in the World for his performance. In 2012, he made his maiden double century in ODI cricket, becoming the second batsman after Sachin Tendulkar to achieve this.
He has been described as the "most exciting opener in the world" by Wisden Cricketers' Almanack because of his unorthodox style of batting.
Sehwag is the only Indian to have scored a triple century (300 or more runs), and he has done it twice – once against Pakistan in 2004, and once against South Africa in 2008.
Nargis Fakhri is an American model and actress of Pakistani-Czech origin, who has appeared in several Bollywood films. At the age of 27, she started her career as a model as a contestant in The CW series ‘America’s Next Top Model’.
Her Bollywood debut was in Rockstar (2011), for which she received a Filmfare Award nomination in the category of ‘Best Female Debut’.
Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr, aka Snoop Dogg, is an American rapper and record producer. When he started recording he took the stage name ‘Snoop Doggy Dogg’ which he changed to ‘Snoop Lion’ in 2012.
His debut album ‘Doggystyle’ produced by Dr Dre ranked at number one on both Billboard 200 and Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Album charts. With hits like What’s My Name? and Gin and Juice, the album became a 4x platinum, having sold a million copies worldwide.
Snoop founded his own production company, Snoopadelic Films, in 2005.
