Our audience is keen on reading stories of entrepreneurs creating a difference in the world. Your profile speaks volumes of the outstanding work you have done. What inspired you to become a blogger/ influencer?

Food blogging is something that came very spontaneously to me. Initially, I didn’t know what blogging was. Inspired by one of my encounters with a local street food vendor being ill-treated by a boy, I started this blog to raise the standard of living of the local street food vendors and provide them with a platform where they can showcase their food. Also, bringing Lucknow on the World Food Map, by spreading knowledge and creating quality content, has been a significant driver of my thoughts.

Being a food enthusiast, I started writing about food and places and came across this opportunity to start a food blog to form a community or a channel for people to engage upon.

 

What kind of content do you create? How did you find inspiration in food styling/ blogging?


I create content which is related to food, people and travel. I believe my content to be very organic and having a personal connection with the audience via various Q/A sessions, static evaluations, and questionnaires. The content that I create includes both static photography and videography covering various restaurants, street food vendors and hotels.

 

When did your first collaboration happen? How has your feed grown since then?


My first collaboration happened in 2017 with one of the local brands of Lucknow (which was a new venture in the city). With time, Flavors of Lucknow has grown by leaps and bounds. Initially, a lot of national brands started collaborating with me and as the page grew many international brands have also tied up with us like KFC, Marriot, OYO Rooms, Toyota, etc.

Started as an initiative to help the local street vendors of the city, on one hand, FOL has successfully managed to create an impact on the best of brands with its amazing feed and reviews thereby maintaining a flavorsome balance between the elite choice and lip-smacking street food. Having dared to be different than the rest, Flavors of Lucknow has got its audience fall head over heels in love with his work emerging out as one of the best influencer marketing platforms of the town. FOL takes pride in reviewing more than 300+ food places in town and outside, that includes the hidden gems of the city.

In these times when every other person claims himself to be an influencer/ blogger, how do you keep up with the growing competition on the platform especially when you have difficult algorithms to beat?


The key mantra to success is to be genuine, have quality content be regular and consistent. When you have extraordinary ideas and out of the box content people are eager to see and appreciate it. Also, you should never compare yourself with other people and should always get involved in a healthy competition that brings success and growth to everyone working towards a similar objective. Competing with your self is something that makes you stand out from the rest. Your evaluation of “ where you were yesterday and where do you land yourself today”, will surely pave your way towards infinite success and happiness. Learn to value your work, time and energy. It is only then that the brands would value you.

 

How do you keep yourself away from negativity? What motivates you to keep creating more?

The only way to overcome the negativity around you is to overpower yourself with positivity. Once you start replacing negative thoughts with positive ones, you’ll start seeing positive results. Work hard for what you want because it won’t come to you without a fight. The greatest strength you can ever have is your faith, belief, trust, and a positive attitude. Also, when it comes to blogging and influencer marketing, don’t ever be negative on public platforms.

The hard work and dedication of these local street vendors, the specially-abled people and all those people who are finding it difficult to make their ends meet, always inspire and motivate me to step out of my comfort zone to achieve the unachievable. These are the people who trigger me to leave no stone unturned and work hard for living a more meaningful life tomorrow. For instance, a handicapped person running a tea stall, an old person selling simple eateries and many more such people give me a daily boost of energy and vigor.

Who is your role model? Any favorite Instagrammer/ blogger?

I would not particularly specify someone as my role model. All the unsung heroes who toil very hard in their kitchens, all the people who manage it somehow to put up their businesses with the small funds they have, all the mothers and housewives managing their homes are the ones who inspire and motivate me.

What is your dream about taking your blogging/ food styling journey to the next level? How do you plan to grow next?

The key idea behind founding Flavors of Lucknow was to accelerate the growth of the city with a pinch of both local street food and elite tastes and cuisines added to it. I want Flavors of Lucknow to be one stop option for anyone visiting the city. I have the audience from abroad as well engaged on my page thereby creating an international awareness about the food and cuisine. Apart from this, I want the page to grow more as an influencer marketing platform whereby the best of international brands choose FOL for their marketing and promotions, taking a leverage of my marketing strategies and innovative ideas. Thus, I would want FOL to grow as a brand of GLOBAL CHOICE.

What advice would you like to give to the coming of age bloggers/ influencers?

My only advice to the coming age of bloggers /influencers is not to get involved in a negative competition. Be genuine and true with your content. People follow you for your unique style and credibility, therefore don’t indulge in fake reviews or copying others’ content. Do whatever you’re good at, do what gives you happiness, do what helps you earn money but not at the cost of misleading others.
