Aamir Khan is set to attempt the longest kiss with Anushka Sharma in ‘Peekay’. We’re waiting with bated breath
This doesn’t come as a surprise though. Before Emraan Khan created hype and controversies with his on-screen kisses, earning the title of ‘serial kisser’, our Khan had already earned a reputation of having atleast one mouth-to-mouth suction in his films which is a lot more than two flowers caressing each other. Needless to say, the audience isn’t complaining either.
When he debuted with 'Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak', he became an overnight star and his lip-lock with co-star Juhi Chawla was an instant hit. After shedding their inhibitions in the lip-lock department, they went ahead and shared quite a few in their later films, the last one being ‘Ishq’ in 1997.
But his loyalties didn’t rest with his first co-star only. His pairing with the reigning queen of that time, Madhuri Dixit in Dil resulted in light liplock. Madhuri had already become an expert after her steaming lip-locks and love making scenes with Vinod Khanna in Dayavaan.
Aamir’s lip-locking scenes can be made to a pretty long and amazing list. In the nineties, kissing was still a taboo and was yet to be well-received by the audience. But that didn’t stop our chocolaty hero from indulging in anything from a peck to a smooch. His romp with Pooja Bedi in the film 'Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander' and Manisha Koirala in 'Akele Hum Akele Tum' and Mamta Kulkarni in 'Baazi' were the most re-winded scenes in the VHS era.
But it was his wet kiss with Karisma Kapoor in Raja Hindustani, touted as the longest kiss in the history of Indian cinema at that time, left the audience holding its breath. The film became a landmark, transforming Karishma’s look and career for good.
Among the other kisses, his kiss with Kareena Kapoor is worth talking about .It was a simple question which was asked throughout the film and we see it culminating in the climax of the film. Whether noses touch while kissing or not had to be found out and what better way to figure that than actually indulging in one. And Aamir did get his lessons right .
