There was no big crash for both Ayushmann Khurrana and Nushrat Bharucha starrer Dream Girl and Sushant Singh Rajput starrer Chhichhore as they were unstoppable on Saturday at the box office.
The Nitesh Tiwari directed Chhichhore entered its fourth week now on a very good note. Despite facing new releases every other week – Dream Girl, Section 375, Prassthanam, The Zoya Factor And Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas, Chhichhore kept the momentum strong at the box office. While Dream Girl and Section 375 were appreciated, the others failed big time which led Chhichhore perform strongly with the first week run at Rs 68.83 crores. Owing to a solid word of mouth feedback, the second week collections were equally good with Rs 40.47 crores at the box office followed by another amazing Rs 24.23 crore in the third week.
Due to the absence of any new releases this week, Chhichhore held its head high and earned a very good Rs 2.40 crores on the fourth Friday. The earnings went up on Saturday with an amazing Rs 4.30 crore followed by slight growth on Sunday with Rs 4.38 crore. The drop was normal on fourth Monday with Rs 1.50 crore, bringing the 25 days total collections to Rs 146.10 crore. Produced by Sajid Nadiawala, Chhichhore has already crossed its budget of Rs 65 Crore (Production Cost: 50 Crore, Prints & Advertising Cost: 15 Crore).
Ayushmann Khurrana and Nushrat Bharucha starrer Dream Girl stunned every one with yet another solid growth on its 3rd Saturday and Sunday. The comedy drama remained strong at the ticket thanks to an encouraging word-of-mouth reviews from the paying audience which helped the movie to mint a staggering Rs 72.20 crore in the first week. Due to the strong reviews, Dream Girl minted a very good Rs 38.60 crore in the second week.
Produced by Balaji Motions Pictures and Zee Studios production, Dream Girl held very well on third Friday with Rs 3.40 crore due to the absence of any releases. The growth was positive on Saturday with an outstanding Rs 6.30. The earnings went slightly up on Sunday with Rs 6.50 crore. The drop on Monday was usual with Rs 2.20 crore bringing the 18 days total to Rs 129.20 crore. Directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa, Dream Girl is made on a budget of Rs 30 crore.
Chhichhore and Dream Girl will face the Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff starrer War from 2nd October for which the advance booking collections has already started.
