The Lion King and Hrithik Roshan starrer Super 30 kept the box office afloat, despite new releases.
The Lion King collected a massive Rs 81.57 crore in first week. Due to the release of new Bollywood, it dropped slightly on second week with Rs 45.75 crore but continued to perform in third week with Rs 16.20 crore, followed by Rs 9.20 in fourth week. After 4 weeks, the total collection of Disney drama has touched Rs 150.73 crore.
Super 30, had a wonderful first week with Rs 75.85 crore. Even though there was a big release last week in form of The Lion King, the student drama continued to win hearts of the audience in the second week with Rs 37.86 crore and Rs 17.94 crores in the third week and Rs 9.60 crore in fourth week.
Based on true incident, Super 30 faced big releases in form of Kangana Ranaut and Rajkummar Rao starrer Judgementall Hai Kya and Dilijit Dosanjh and Kirti Sanon starrer Arjun Patiala, Hollywood film Fast And Furious – Hobb And Shaw and last Friday did, Jabariya Jodi but held well as it entered the 5th weekend. The collection was stable with Rs 56 lakh on Friday. There was a good growth on Saturday with Rs 1.13 crore followed by another Rs 1.79 crore on Sunday, bringing the 5th week total collections to Rs 5.5 crore and overall total to Rs 146.50 Crore. The student drama has chance of cracking Rs 150 crore milestone.
