Rhea Chakraborty today was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau. As the probe in Sushant Singh Rajput's death case moved further, Rhea Chakraborty came under the radar of the NCB after the drug angle came to light. Today, she was arrested in the afternoon under sections 8 (c), 20 (b), 27 (a), 28 and 29 of the NDPS Act. She was then presented in front of the magistrate court via video conferencing. As per the reports she was granted 14-days judicial custody, after which, her lawyers applied for bail. As per the latest in India TV, Rhea Chakraborty's bail plea has been now rejected by the court.
The report suggests that Rhea Chakraborty's bail plea has been rejected and that she will be moving to the sessions court. Earlier, a NCB official had revealed that they won't be seeking Rhea's remand custody as they have already obtained all the information needed from Rhea over three days of interrogation. The remand copy filed by NCB also made its way to the media that suggested Rhea procured drugs for Sushant. A part of it read, "During statement present respondent Rhea Chakraborty revealed about her involvement in procurement of drug and financial transaction. Therefore, it is clear from statement that respondent is an active member of drug syndicate connected with drug supplies."
Now, the actress' lawyers are expected to file the bail application in the sessions court. On the other hand, Special prosecutor Atul Sarkande stated, "She has been sent to jail upto 22nd of this month. Her bail application has been rejected. Today she will stay here (in NCB office) and will go to the jail tomorrow morning," as reported by ANI.
