18 Mar 2021: 'Chehre' trailer: Rhea Chakraborty finally makes an appearance

The trailer of Amitabh Bachchan, Emraan Hashmi-starrer Chehre has dropped and we have a promising tale on our hands.

The trailer introduces us to the setting and tone of the film.

Actress Rhea Chakraborty, who was missing from the poster and teaser, finally makes an appearance in the clip.

The crime thriller is slated to be released on April 9.

Thriller: Bachchan conducts 'mock' trial, Hashmi is the accused

The trailer begins with Hashmi driving through a forest amidst a snowstorm. The harsh weather forces him to take shelter at a mansion.

There, he introduces himself as the chief of an advertisement agency to Bachchan, Annu Kapoor, Drithiman Chatterjee, and Raghubir Yadav.

The group of veterans seems harmless initially but things take an unexpected turn after Hashmi is invited for a mock trial.

Details: Chakraborty has a blink-and-miss appearance in the trailer

As the trial commences, Hashmi is forced to face the demons from his past. Toward the end of the trailer, we see Chakraborty.

Her fleeting appearance in the trailer finally addresses the question about her involvement with the project.

Not long ago, producer Anand Pandit had given a vague response on the matter. He said he will talk about Chakraborty at the right time.

Statement: Today, producer called her 'integral part' of the movie

After the trailer dropped, Pandit said chopping her role was never an option.

"There was never any question of not having Rhea in the film. She was, is, and will always be an integral part of Chehre. I don't believe in getting swayed so easily," he said in a statement.

Earlier, it was reported that the snubs had upset the 28-year-old.

Controversy: Chakraborty jumped to headlines after Sushant Singh Rajput's death

Chakraborty found herself at the center of a long-drawn controversy after her boyfriend, actor Sushant Singh Rajput died by alleged suicide in June 2020.

Rajput's family had leveled serious allegations on her like abetting his suicide. The case is under investigation by three central agencies.
