After a dull show in the morning, the Nitesh Tiwary directed Chhichhore showed a fair opening as Sushant Singh Rajput and Shraddha Kapoor was able to register to good collections at the box office which was very much in line with the trade expectations.
After giving the biggest blockbuster in the history of Bollywood cinema, Dangal, and light hearted comedies like Bhoothnath Returns and Chillar Party, Niteshh Tiwary is back with yet another feel good cinema, Chhichhore, starring Sushant Singh Rajput, Shraddha Kapoor and Varun Sharma.
Dangal broke all the box office records as the film collected the highest net collections with Rs 388 crore (approx). More than that, Dangal also got thumbs up from both critics and audience. Though Chhichhore will not be able to collect that massive amount but has earned the respect.
The reviews from both critics and audience for Chhichhore have been excellent however the morning show occupancy is between 10-15% occupancy which is lesser than Kedarnath but bigger than Sonchiriya. The film picked up in evening and night shows, especially post 6 PM, and registered an opening to some where between Rs 7-8 crore from 2000 screens across India, as per early estimates. Chichhore will be the 16th highest opening film of 2019. The friendship drama should perform well on Saturday and Sunday.
The budget of Nitesh Tiwary directed film is Rs 65 Crore (Production Cost: 50 Crore, Prints & Advertising Cost: 15 Crore)
