Coronavirus India Update: India has been placed under "complete lockdown" for the next 21 days to tackle coronavirus even as the COVID-19 positive cases rose to 562, as per the latest data provided by the Central Government. While the central and state governments are taking a slew of measures to ensure the availability of essential commodities in the market, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has asked people not to panic and stay at home. In an important development, the second death from Delhi has turned out to be COVID-19 negative, the Union Health Ministry said on Wednesday morning. The maximum number of coronavirus positive cases have been reported from Kerala and Maharashtra.

Union Ministry of Home Affairs has directed all state governments and Union Territories to set up a 24*7 control rooms or offices and start helplines at state or district level to address any grievances or problems faced by providers of goods services this coronavirus lockdown.

The total number of coronavirus cases in India rose to 562, as per the data released by the Ministry of Health. Further, the Ministry states that there are 512 active cases in the country as of now. There have been 9 deaths so far, and 41 people have been cured/discharged or have migrated. The figure includes 43 foreign nationals, and 519 Indians who have so far tested positive for coronavirus.

As per the data provided, the death toll due to COVID-19 was revised down to nine on Wednesday. It stated that the second death that was reported from Delhi was COVID-19 negative, thus bringing the death toll in the country down to nine.

As per the information released, Kerala has reported the highest number of COVID-19 positive cases at 109, which includes eight foreign nationals. This is followed by Maharashtra which has 101 coronavirus positive patients as per the ministry data. From Karnataka, 41 cases have been reported. Telangana and Uttar Pradesh have reported 35 positive cases each. Gujarat has reported 33 positive cases, while the number of cases in Rajasthan has increased to 32. Delhi has reported 31 cases and one death so far.
