Due to the sudden rise of cases diagnosed with Coronavirus, it seems like Bollywood movies and their businesses will be affected. Read on…
You must be knowing already that several Hollywood films have pushed their release dates due to the outspread of Coronavirus in other parts of the world like the next James Bond flick. And with 12 cases being detected alone in Kerala, it seems like Bollywood films and the producers might also postpone the release date of their upcoming films. It may also affect the business of the movies because one of the major precautionary steps one needs to take to avoid getting affected is by not going to crowded places. To be honest, people who are aware and follow these basic rules will avoid going to cinemas.
Sooryavanshi starring Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif which is supposed to release on March 24 might get a new release date as per sources. It is expected that Rohit Shetty along with Akshay Kumar and the head of Reliance Entertainment would be meeting to decide a new release date for the film.
With theaters being already shut after the state-government’s orders in Kerala which had 12 active cases of Coronavirus, the similar situation might occur in the neighboring states if Covid 19 positive cases are detected. The makers of 83 starring Ranveer Singh might also follow the lead as it is touted to be one of the biggest films of the year.
In India alone, 60 positive cases of Coronavirus have been detected and it might only increase from here. The streets of Italy have remained empty after it became the country with the second highest number of deaths due to this epidemic. Not to forget, health obviously lies above entertainment and one’s love for cinema will take a back-seat so as to remain safe & guarded against Covid-19. While not many people are well-aware and educated about how the virus spreads and how it can be avoided, many Indians are more prone to be infected to the virus due to lack of awareness.
It won’t be of great surprise if the Bollywood producers would be keen on delaying and pushing the release-dates of their movies in India after all it is a commerce-driven industry. Several other fields like sports, tourism etc are already facing losses due to the outbreak of Coronavirus in other parts of the world.
Let’s now see whether the deadly Coronavirus will be affecting the box-office collections of prominent Bollywood films or not!
