After Salman Khan Dabangg 3 opened below expectations on its first day, there was hardly any growth on the second day at the box office due to the CAA protest across India.
Dabangg 3 saw one of the weakest opening of Salman Khan even though the advance booking picked up for Prabhu Deva directed action drama. Salman Khan re-unites with Prabhu Deva for their second collaboration after giving super hit film like Wanted and the expectation was huge from Dabangg 3.
Due to CAA bill protest across India, Dabangg 3 underperformed on its first day. The reviews from both critics and audience (BookyMyShow.com) have been mixed which led to the first day opening of Rs 24.50 crore crossing Dabangg (Rs 14 crore) and Dabangg 2 (Rs 19.25 crore) to become the highest opening film of the franchise but could come close to Ranbir Kapoor starrer Sanju which holds the record for the highest opening film for a Non-Holiday release.
As per early estimates, earnings did not pick up on the second day and should fall between Rs 24-25 crore, bringing the 2 days total to Rs 49.50-50 crore.
The action-drama also stars Sonakshi Sinha, Saiee Manjrekar and Sudeep in lead roles and will be produced by Arbaaz Khan. The budget of Dabangg 3 is Rs 125 crore.
