After the good first weekend, the Salman Khan starrer Dabangg 3 showed a good hold on its first Monday inching towards 100 crore.
Due to CAA protest across India, Dabangg 3 suffered right from day one and saw one of the weakest opening of Salman Khan. The Prabhu Deva directed action drama received mixed reactions from both critics and audience. Salman Khan re-unites with Prabhu Deva for their second collaboration after giving super hit film like Wanted and the expectation was huge from Dabangg 3.
Due to CAA bill protest across India, Dabangg 3 underperformed on its first day collecting Rs 24.50 crore and crossing Dabangg (Rs 14 crore) and Dabangg 2 (Rs 19.25 crore) to become the highest opening film of the franchise. As the protest spread to different parts of India, the earnings got impacted on the second day with just Rs 24.75 crore. There was a good growth on Sunday as the situation turned normal, collecting a very good Rs 31.50 crore.
As per early estimates, earnings dropped on Monday by 50-55% and should fall between Rs 10-12 crore, bringing the 4 days total to Rs 91.50-92 crore. Due to the Christmas holiday on Wednesday, the trend is looking positive on Tuesday.
The action-drama also stars Sonakshi Sinha, Saiee Manjrekar and Sudeep in lead roles and will be produced by Arbaaz Khan. The budget of Dabangg 3 is Rs 125 crore.
