There were five significant Bollywood films which were released today in the past years – Salman Khan and Karisma Kapoor starrer Judwaa, Nana Patekar starrer Yeshwant, Fardeen Khan and Kareena Kapoor starrer Khushi, Raveena Tandon starrer Satta and Sidarth Malhotra, Adah Sharma and Parineeti Chopra starrer Hasee Toh Phasee. Let us check how the films fared at the box office.

Judwaa (1997)

After giving innumerable hits like Coolie No.1, Saajan Chale Sasural, Hero No. 1 and Raja Babu, David Dhawan collaborated with Salman Khan for the first time in Sajid Nadiawala produced Judwaa. This along with adequate support from Kader Khan, Anupam Kher and Karisma Kapoor made the films memorable with hilarious comic scenes and full entertainment. Judwaa was yet another “Super-Hit” film which had high dose of comedy, hit music and masala entertainment which was loved by the audience.

Yeshwant (1997)

After the success of Krantiveer and Agni Sakhsi, Nana Patekar became popular among the audience commercially. Nana Patekar equally impressed the audience with his portrayal of a honest police officer in Anil Mattoo directed Yeshwant, which became a sensational hit at the box office. The song “Ek Macchar” became quite a rage at that time which also leveraged the box office collections.

Satta (2003)

The second film by Madhur Bhandarkar after the success of Chandni Bar, Satta exposed the hypocrisy and the superficial lives of political big shots and high-society people. It was one most hard-hitting ever made in Bollywood. This coupled with brilliant performance by Raveena Tandon and Atul Kulkarni made Satta, made it a good watch. Unfortunately, the political drama tanked at the box office.

Khushi (2003)

Khushi (2003) Bollywood Movie Poster

Remake of a Tamil film of same name, Khushi had sky-high expectations from the audience – Good looking actors, hit music, lovely music and high-production value. Unfortunately, the Fardeen Khan and Kareena Kapoor starrer lacked is a good screenplay. The film opened to a thunderous response but could not sustain afterwards and turned out to be a “Flop” at the box office.

Hasee Toh Phasee (2014)

Sidharth Malhotra And Parineeti Chopra starrer Hasee Toh Phasee (2014) was a fun romantic-comedy film which was directed by Vinil Mathew. Hasee Toh Phasee, also starring the gorgeous Adah Sharma, turned out to be sleeper hit at the box office.
