Kesari (2019)

Last year at this time, we saw clash between Akshay Kumar starrer Kesari and super-hero film Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota. Based on the true story of Battle of Saragarhi, which saw 21 soldiers of the Sikh Regiment of the British Army fighting against 10,000 Afghanistan tribes in 1897, Kesari broke all the records for Akshay Kumar. The war drama has collected close to Rs 155 crores against a budget of Rs 100 crore.

Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota (2019)

The other film, Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota, was definitely an under-rated super-hero Bollywood film which had no takers even it was appreciated for an amazing content. The film collected just a mere Rs 2.55 crore against a budget of Rs 21 crore

Ragini MMS 2 (2014)

Known for its sleazy and sex content, Ragini MMS 2 had chart-bursting songs like “Baby Doll” and “Chaar Bottle Vodka” and bombshell, Sunny Leone, which helped the film score an eye-popping Rs 46.56 against a budget of Rs 19 crore. Produced by Ekta Kapoor, Ragini MMS 2 changed the fortune of Sunny Leone and Baby Doll singer, Kanika Kapoor, who co-incidentally is also in the limelight now.

Ankhon Dekhi (2014)

Another outstanding and under-rated film by Rajat Kapoor, which had more content rather than star-value, Ankhon Dekhi was a beautiful story of Bauji (played brilliantly by Sanjay Mishra). The film had no takers, collecting just Rs 81.25 lakhs made on a budget of Rs 4.25 crore.

Lakshmi (2014)

Like Ankhon Dekhi, Lakshmi was yet another content-driven which just vanished even before the public was made aware of it. Directed by Nagesh Kukunoor, Lakshmi tells the true story of child trafficking and prostitution and collected Rs 29 lakhs with a budget of Rs 4 crore.

Race (2008)

One of the best films of 2008, Race had all the ingredients to make it an instant blockbuster – Solid performances, amazing direction, gripping storyline, brilliant songs and eye-catching locations. Directed by Abbas-Mastaan, Race collected a staggering Rs 61 crore against a budget of Rs 46 crore.
