There were three significant Bollywood films which were released today in the past years – Sanjay Dutt, Arshad Warsi, Boman Irani and Vidya Balan starrer Lage Raho Munnabhai, Ayushmann Khurana and Bhumi Pednekar starrer Shubh Mangal Saavdhan and Ajay Devgan, Emraan Hashmi, Vidyut Jamwal, Illeana D Cruz and Esha Gupta starrer Baadshaho. Lage Raho Munnabhai-2006
Sequel to 2003’s blockbuster Munnabhai M.B.B.S, Rajkumar Hirani directed Lage Raho Munnabhai was even more fun. loved and grand thanks to the concept of “Gandhigiri“. The film opened to fabulous response all across the world and became an instant blockbuster. In domestic market, the Sanjay Dutt, Arshad Warsi, Vidya Balan and Boman Irani starrer collected a massive Rs 75 crore against a budget of just Rs 19 crore.
Shubh Mangal Saavdhan-2017
Based on Tamil film, Kalyana Samayal Saadham, Shubh Mangal Saavdhan was one joyful ride that will keep you entertained throughout. You will fall in love with the film, the moment you enter the premise. There are enough scenes to tickle your funny bone and the romantic drama turned out to second hit for Ayushmann Khurana after Bareily Ki Barfi in 2017 and third hit of Bhumi Pednekar after Dum Laga Ke Haisha and Toilet Ek Prem Katha. Produced by Aanand L Rai, Shubh Mangal Savdhaan collected a very good Rs 41 crore against a budget of Rs 25 crore, isnpite of clashing with a biggie like Baadhshaho, which we will cover in next section.
Baadshaho – 2017
Directed by Milan Luthria, Baadshaho, was one of the most expensive film of 2017 with huge star cast comprising of Ajay Devgn, Emraan Hashmi, Vidyut Jamwaal, Esha Gupta, Ileana D Cruz. The action drama received bad reviews for poor screenplay and weak direction. It turned out to a big disappointment at the box office, collecting Rs 65 crore against a huge budget of Rs 90 crore.
