There were four significant Bollywood films which were released today in the past years – John Abraham starrer Parmanu, Amitabh Bachchan and Tabu starrer Cheeni Kum, Vivek Oberoi and Sanjay Dutt starrer Shootout At Lokhandwala and Kareena Kapoor and Tushhar Kapoor starrer Mujhe Kucch Kehna Hai. Parmanu-The Story Of Pokhran (2018)
Last year, John Abraham surprised everyone with Parmanu-The Story Of Pokhran which opened on a average note but gained momentum due to widespread positive reviews. The war-drama did very at the box office collecting a solid Rs 65 crores (approx) against a budget of Rs 35 crores.
Cheeni Kum (2007)
Directed by R. Balki, Cheeni Kum was a fresh romantic love story between a 64-year-old chef, falls in love with a 34-year-old software engineer. Starring Amitabh Bachchan, Tabu and Paresh Rawal in key roles, Cheeni Kum was the surprise hit of the year even though it clash with Shootout At Lokhandwala.
Shootout At Lokhandwala (2007)
Based on the true incident of the 1991 Lokhandwala Complex shootout showing the real life gun battle between gangsters (Maya Dolas) and Mumbai Police, Shootout at Lokhandwala was the hard-hitting gangster film which had some nail-biting scenes, superb dialogues and chartbursting songs. As a result, Shootout at Lokhandwala turned out to be hit at the box office.
Mujhe Kucch Kehna (2001)
Kareena Kapoor was already a rage among the youth thanks to her lovely performance in her debut film Refugee (2001). Mujhe Kucch Kehna Hai hit the jackpot at the ticket windows with memorable songs by Anu Malik, entertainment factor and the youth appeal. Tusshar Kapoor forayed into the Bollywood with the romantic-comedy.
