There were two significant Bollywood films which were released today in the past years – Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan starrer Mohabbatein and Hrithik Roshan and Sanjay Dutt starrer Mission Kashmir. Let us check how the films fared at the box office.

Mohabbatein (2000)

Mohabbatein was probably the biggest release of 2000. Two titans – Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan, second film by Aditya Chopra after Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge and bunch of new comers spelled the magic at the box office. Music by Jatin Lalit was soul-stirring which was another factor contributed to the success of this romantic drama.

Mohabbatein went on to collect Rs 42 crore against a budget of Rs 19 crore, becoming blockbuster.

Mission Kashmir (2000)

Directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Mission Kashmir was the third film in line for the Hrithik Roshan who already amazed the world with Kaho Na Pyaar Hai and Fiza. As people were already comparing him Shah Rukh Khan, much was expected from this action-drama. Mission Kashmir had a good storyline, punching dialogues and good action moments which turned this action drama into a superb film. Unfortunately, the clash with Mohabbatein took a toll on its box office number and it turned out to be an average grosser at the box office, collecting Rs 23 crore against a budget of Rs 20 crore.
