Dileep arrest: The Kerala actor turns to High court for bail in the Malayalam actress abduction case

On July 10, the Malayalam industry was shaken by the shocking arrest of Kerala actor Dileep for his alleged involvement in the Malayalam actress abduction case. Based on prima facie evidence, the actor was arrested for conspiring in the abduction case. The actor was taken into judicial custody for 14 days. On Saturday, the actor’s plea for bail was dismissed after his police custody was extended by a day, As per the latest update on Times Of India, the actor has moved the High court for bail in the abduction case. As per the reports, his bail plea states that Dileep was arrested based on a statement made by the Prime accused pulsar Sunil. No verification or further investigation was carried out, claimed the actor,  by the police that could prove the validity of Pulsar Sunil’s statement. His role hasn’t been mentioned in the remand reports, the actor has gone to statement. He has in fact asked for clarity on his alleged role in the case. The report further states, that out of 19 pieces of evidence put forth by the police, 8 of them go against his staff and not the actor himself. The verdict of this bail plea will reportedly be out this noon. In response to the arrest, the actor was removed from The Association of Malayalam movie artists and two other organisations. Several celebs have expressed shock over the arrest and have aluded the actress for speaking up with courage. The actress has denied any property dealing with the actor. “I had no real estate or financial dealings with the accused. We had some personal problems and fell out. I have not accused anyone by name to the investigating agencies. innocent people should not be convicted.” stated the actress while speaking with India Today. It was in February 2017, the actress was abducted and assaulted for two hours in a her own car by a gang of six men that included her driver. Despite the threat, the actress went and ahead and filed a police complaint.
