The Walt Disney Company has officially entered the streaming wars, taking on the likes of Netflix and HBO with the launch of Disney+, its new subscription-based streaming platform.

Disney previously unveiled the long list of shows and movies that have been made available to subscribers on launch day, including several originals plus a large selection from its storied archive.

The platform is also the home of several Fox titles following the Disney-Fox merger earlier this year.

Among the titles Disney selected for the launch are classics such as Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Pinocchio and Cinderella, as well as pop culture essentials from the LucasFilm, Marvel and Pixar catalogues.

We've compiled a list of the 25 most anticipated things to watch on Disney + now that the platform has launched in the US. Disney+ will become available in the UK on 31 March, 2020.

The streaming service, first announced in April, costs $6.99 a month. The platform is making its debut shortly after the launch of one of its competitors, Apple TV+, which entered the market on 1 November.

More titles will be added to the Disney+ catalogue as time goes on, including a TV show dedicated to the MCU character Loki, starring Tom Hiddleston.

Unlike some of its competitors such as Netflix and Hulu, Disney+ won't have a rotating slate of content and each addition to the platform will be permanent, a spokesperson told Comicbook.com.
