Duane ‘Dog’ Chapman is ‘resting comfortably’ after being admitted to hospital with chest pains.

The 66-year-old Dog The Bounty Hunter star - who returned to work shortly after his wife Beth Chapan’s death in June - was treated in a Colorado hospital at the weekend with complications linked to blood pressure and stress.

A representative for Chapman said: “I can confirm Dog is under doctor's care and is resting comfortably. Thank you for all of your well wishes - keep 'em coming.”

According to TMZ the reality TV star - who chases wanted criminals for a living - underwent a series of test, including an angiogram x-ray on his heart.

Doctors have reportedly ruled out a heart attack but are yet to give an official diagnosis on what they believe to be a blood-pressure related complication.

His 20-year-old daughter Bonnie shared a tribute to her father on Instagram, writing: “Love you, pops.”

It has been a difficult year for Dog, whose wife of 13 years Beth passed away aged 51 on 26 June 26 after battling cancer.

Beth was first diagnosed with throat cancer in 2017, which she later beat. Sadly, her illness returned again last year and she underwent emergency surgery in November 2018 to remove a tumour from her throat.

Dog’s son Leland, 42, was hospitalised with a knee injury on their very first job when they returned to work in July.

And then the family suffered further heartache when many of Beth's possessions were stolen during a burglary on his shop in Colorado.

Opening up about his grief to Entertainment Tonight Dog said: "Every day is a challenge, but, you know, one to 10, I'm six. I've lost a lot of weight but I started eating last night at a soul food restaurant we went to, and I'm trying to get back on track...I really like to dream now."

He also told People in August that he plans to start dating again, but vowed never to remarry.

He said: “I probably will do that, and I told her that.

"What deal we said is I will never take ‘Beth’ off my chest, I have her name here. And I will never get married.”
