The Ayushmann Khurrana and Nushrat Bharucha starrer Dream Girl was unstoppable on Sunday at the box office. Can Dream Girl become his highest grossing film beating Badhaai Ho at the box office ?
Ayushmann Khurrana and Nushrat Bharucha starrer Dream Girl stunned every one with yet another solid growth on its 3rd Saturday and Sunday. The comedy drama remained strong at the ticket thanks to an encouraging word-of-mouth reviews from the paying audience which helped the movie to mint a staggering Rs 72.20 crore in the first week. Due to the strong reviews, Dream Girl minted a very good Rs 38.60 crore in the second week.
Produced by Balaji Motions Pictures and Zee Studios production, Dream Girl held very well on third Friday with Rs 3.40 crore due to the absence of any releases. The growth was positive on Saturday with an outstanding Rs 6.30. The earnings went further up on Sunday with Rs 7.40 crore, bringing the 17 days total to Rs 128.10 crore. Directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa, Dream Girl is made on a budget of Rs 30 crore.
The Ayushmann Khurrana and Sanya Malhotra starrer Badhaai Ho had a great run on day 18 at the box office and broke the record of Ajay Devgan starrer Raid to become the 9th highest grossing film of Bollywood.
As there was no major release last week, Badhaai Ho took advantage of the situation minting Rs 2.35 crores on 3rd Friday. The earnings went up on Saturday collecting Rs 3.55 crores while the film witnessed further growth on Sunday with Rs 3.85 crores bringing the overall collections to Rs 104 crores after the end of its third week. With this collections, Badhaai Ho has beaten the Rajkumar Gupta directed and Ajay Devgan starrer Raid (Rs 103.07 crore) to become the 9th highest grossing film of 2018
