Each October since 2016, Esquire has gathered together an eclectic and inspiring group of movers and shakers from the worlds of film, music, books, art, TV, sport, fashion, food, drink, travel and adventure for the Esquire Townhouse in association with Breitling: a series of talks and interviews, screenings and performances, workshops and demonstrations, tastings and dinners, at a grand old house in central London. The aim is to bring to life the work we do every day in print and digital, to invite our readers to experience Esquire up close and personal, instead of at a remove.

This year, for the first time, and for reasons you will understand only too well, we must host our Townhouse online, rather than IRL. As with so many creative ventures, the restrictions imposed by the coronavirus pandemic provide not only challenges to be overcome, but also opportunities to be embraced. So, instead of a series of live events, we proudly present Esquire Townhouse @ Your House with Breitling: a series of video conversations with some of the most vital and urgent voices in contemporary culture.

From the revered artist and filmmaker Sir Steve McQueen to the influential and innovative cook Yotam Ottolenghi; from the actor, musician and activist Riz Ahmed to the legendary football manager Arsène Wenger; from the rightly acclaimed fashion designer Jonathan Anderson to the explorer and ecologist David de Rothschild, the 2020 line-up is as eminent and exciting as in any previous year.

Better yet, entrance is free, and you don’t need to leave the comfort of your living room to be here. Hell, you can stay in bed and watch it in your jim-jams, if that’s what floats your boat. Personally, I’ll be putting a tie on and pouring myself a stiff one before diving in. Some habits die hard. Wherever, however, whenever, and with whomever you are watching, we hope you find something to amuse and entertain, inform and instruct. And with luck, we will see you in person next year, at the Esquire Townhouse @ Our House.
