Edward Norton to be honoured at Camerimage International Festival

Warsaw, Oct 24 (PTI) Actor-director Edward Norton will be bestowed with the Krzysztof Kieslowski Award at the 2019 Camerimage International Festival.

Norton is best known for his work on films such as 'The Usual Suspects', 'American History X', 'Fight Club', 'Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance)' and others.

He is currently receiving critical acclaim for his directorial 'Motherless Brooklyn', which he also headlines as a detective with Tourette syndrome.

The film, which is based on the Jonathan Lethem novel of the same name, will be screened at the festival. The actor will be present at the film gala.

The award is named after the legendary Polish filmmaker Krzysztof Kieslowski, who revolutionised the country's cinema with films such as 'Three Colours' trilogy, 'The Double Life of Veronique' and 'Dekalog'.

Previous recipients of the award include Gary Oldman, Charlize Theron, Ralph Fiennes, Viggo Mortensen, John Malkovich, Jessica Lange and Kenneth Branagh.

The Camerimage International Festival, which is in its 27th edition, will be held from November 9 to 16 in Torun, Poland. PTI RB
