Panga:

The second woman-led film to release in January, Panga will see Kangana Ranaut take on the role of a kabaddi player who struggles to get back to the sport, while trying to manage her family life. The project, which is also helmed by a woman – director Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari - features Punjabi singer and actor Jassi Gill, Neena Gupta and Yagya Bhasin. The film will hit the theatres on 24 January, this year.

Eight women-oriented Bollywood films to watch out for in 2020

Deepika Padukone has taken a huge risk by coming out in support of JNU protestors, which has also, unfortunately, reflected in the box office numbers of Chhapaak. However, the Meghna Gulzar directorial, which has Padukone playing Malti, an acid attack survivor, has been lauded for its bold and compelling storytelling. With this film, Padukone has also moved a step ahead by taking on a role which is challenging and at odds with the characters she has been taking up lately.
