11 Feb 2021: 'Ek Villain Returns' gets a release date
After a long wait, the release date of Arjun Kapoor-starrer Ek Villain Returns has finally been revealed. The movie will be out on February 11, 2022.
Directed by Mohit Suri, the sequel to Ek Villain, which was released in 2014, will also star John Abraham, Tara Sutaria, and Disha Patani.
The project has been produced by Bhushan Kumar and Ekta Kapoor.

Sharing the first poster of the movie, Abraham wrote, "Iss kahaani ka hero, villain hai! #EkVillainReturns, 11th Feb, 2022 (sic)," while tagging the other team members of the film.
The poster revealed that the movie will be out in 365 days.
The poster also carried a "smiley face," which was a significant symbol of the first leg of this franchise.

Film: What was 'Ek Villain' all about?
Released in 2014, Ek Villain revolves around the story of a hardened criminal whose terminally ill wife is murdered by a serial killer.
Starring Sidharth Malhotra, Shraddha Kapoor and Riteish Deshmukh in lead roles, the movie was a box office hit.
It received mixed to positive reviews from critics, who praised the performances of Deshmukh and Malhotra.

Talking about the sequel, Suri had earlier said, "In this film, the girls are also playing villains. Me and Ekta are trying to build on a whole series of villains and different characters, who are all connected to each other."
The director is known for films like Half Girlfriend, Aashiqui 2, Murder 2, Zeher and Kalyug, among others.
