Ela Bhatt: Poverty Can Never Be Removed Without Women’s Participation

Today's thought of the day is by Ela Bhatt, the torchbearer of Indian women entrepreneurs. In 1972, Bhatt founded the Self Employed Women's Association (SEWA) and led thousands of women into cooperative movements where they could access loans and training to start their own businesses. She says, "It is the women who are the leaders in change and without her participation poverty can never be removed."
