Harry Potter star Emma Watson just made all the single people skip a beat or two, with her statement that she is not single but she’s ‘self-partnered’. “I’m very happy being single, I call it self-partnered,” said the actress. Hermione Granger’s latest interview with Vogue magazine has sparked off a new term of sorts. ‘Self-partnered’ is something we hadn’t heard of before but it seems so LEGIT. The actress who is also a UN Goodwill Ambassador stated has made single the new couple. Her latest statement is all about female empowerment and Twitter is congratulating the lady on a term well coined.
Emma stars in the upcoming movie, Little Women, adapted from Louisa May Alcott’s popular book. This is the 8th film adaptation of the popular novel. The actress who is on a promotional spree for the film has been speaking about feminism, singlehood and societal pressure around turning 30. Meanwhile, lauding her for the term, ‘self-partnered,’ Twitterverse has erupted in sheer joy. “I am a happy, "self-partnered" almost 31-year-old. Thanks, @EmmaWatson for helping all of us formerly known singles to find more truthful and empowering verbiage,” wrote a user. Another wrote, “Emma Watson: Makes a very valid point about the absurd pressures placed on women with regards to expectations over family/partners and that being single is fine. The internet: #SelfPartnered!! LOL!!1!
Although maybe it’s because when you tell someone you’re single, the automatic assumption is that you’re actively looking for a partner, so by saying self-partnered you’re making it clear that you’d actually rather be on you’re own right now? pic.twitter.com/XPj79ebc6G— Hazel Hayes (@TheHazelHayes) November 5, 2019

Finally, to quote Emma Watson – the actress added this statement to the ‘self-partnered’ term and it makes so much sense, at so many levels. “If you have not built a home, if you do not have a husband, if you do not have a baby, and you are turning 30, and you're not in some incredibly secure, stable place in your career, or you're still figuring things out, there's just this incredible amount of anxiety."
