Abhishek Bajaj is an Indian actor best known for his performance in Dharma Productions Student Of The Year 2. Abhishek is also a popular household name as he worked for several famous television shows. It includes Rahul in Dil De Ke Dekho and Ishan in Ek Nanad ki Khushiyon ki Chabi Meri Bhabhi. The actor has also ventured into the webspace.
In an exclusive interview with Pop Diaries, the young actor has shared his views on different topics taking from his journey in the industry to how OTT platforms are helpful to actors. Talking about working for TV and then film the actor said, “Whatever I’ve achieved in my career so far has been step by step. First I started with print shoots, then I got into TV commercials, then acting on TV, and then films. So the transitions were gradual.”
He further added, “TV gave me a lot of confidence. I never learned acting formally, so being part of TV shows was like schooling for me. I got to explore myself and work with great actors like Kawaljeet Singh and Supriya Pilgaonkar, among others. So that’s how I learned acting.”
Later he said, “Film is a very different medium. The technique and the way you perform is very different. Mujhe lagta hai TV mein aap kharch ho jaate ho, but a film, on the other hand, utilizes you optimally. I consider myself really lucky that I’ve had such a beautiful journey so far, and I’m enjoying every bit of it.”
Expressing his views on OTT space SOTY actor stated, “In OTT, an actor gets a lot of space to act. Because usually each episode is for 40 minutes and a series usually has 10 of them. 400 minutes is a lot of time, as opposed to a film that’s only 120 minutes long. So unless you’re the lead actor in a film, you don’t get as much space.”
Furthermore, he said, “The webspace is a great medium for actors to showcase their talent. OTT is not so much about the name; it’s more about content. I’m looking forward to getting good web project offers. That said, the charm of films cannot be denied. Everyone loves to see themselves on the big screen.”
Abhishek concluded spilling about his future projects saying, “I’ve done a couple of movies and we’ll formally announce them soon. I hope the audience loves my work and appreciate the projects.”
