We’ve all had those moments - where we rush to apply fake tan at home in pursuit of a quick DIY glow for an important occasion, only to be left with tell-tale steaks.

Fortunately, a woman called Lauren has come up with a genius solution to help remove orange-coloured mistakes in just five minutes - and it involves using a popular kitchen accessory.

In a post on Twitter, she revealed that she adds Bondi Sands Self Tan Eraser, £14.99, to a refillable dish brush - which costs £1 from most supermarkets - in the compartment where washing up liquid is normally poured into.

“To all my tanning friends... Bondi sands tan remover in one of these little scrubbers takes your tan off in minutes girls legit seconds!!” she explained, alongside a picture of her very affordable streak-removal system.

Lauren added that you should choose a brush with a white - rather than green -scourer on the end as it’s softer when you massage the head onto the skin.

Her post has already received more than 14k ‘likes’ and hundreds of comments.

One person wrote: “Such a good idea. No more tiger loaf legs.”

Another commented: “What an unbelievable idea.”

A third shared: “Who knew a kitchen scrubber is all we needed.”

And a fourth added: “Game changer.”

However, others were worried that a brush intended for getting grime off pots and plates would be too harsh.

One person suggested: “I couldn't think of anything more painful and damaging to your skin.”

“Bondi Sands revolutionary Self Tan Eraser technology effectively removes self-tan without harmful ingredients and exfoliation in just five minutes,” according to the Bondi Sands website.
