Deepika Padukone’s fans are enraged over suspected foul play over Chhapaak’s IMDb ratings falling to 4.4 stars! Here’s how they’ve REACTED:

Chhapaak has been getting rave reviews from the critics ans audiences alike! A real and hard-hitting film that talks about progress in the most realistic sense towards a better future! While Deepika Padukone is being haighly praised for her magical play of Malti in Meghna Gulzar’s directorial, it seems that something has definitely got her fans enraged!

Ever since Deepika Padukone’s visit to JNU, #boycottChhapaak has been trending on Twitter. On the other hand, so has #ChhapaakTriumph and #ISupportDeepikaPadukone in favor of the actress. Now, while the actress has been receiving mixed support on her stand at visiting JNU, it seems Chhapaak has come under the focus to bear brush of it all!

It has recently been observed that ‘Chhapaak’s’ ratings on IMDb, a review aggregator website, has gone way down to 4.4 stars. It seems that with being given unnecessarily harsh reviews about Deepika’s latest release, it’s being reported that out of 6,900 votes, 4,000 shows the lowest rating.

However, Ajay Devgn’s ‘Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior’, which also got released the same day, has recorded 8.8 stars in IMDb. Well, this gave rise to many speculations that this BIG difference might be coming in from the recent JNU visit. However, no clear stands or views were given out by Deepika during or after her visit. The actress, in the wake of the violence that occurred through the campus, had merely been doing what any sane individual with any influential potential should’ve done, discourage violence of every kind, at all costs!

Hence, it is definitely quite insane how her silent stand over violence is being redirected into some political one. Moreover, how it is plain unwise to let her personal choice to affect her films, especially ones that talk about a sensitive, inhumane and much ignored topic like Acid Attacks.

Something that even Meghna Gulzar has the same views on, as she asserted on the same difference, ‘We have to be able to separate between the personal and professional. What somebody does in their personal life and what they have done as a professional in a film needs to be looked at separately.’

‘While they are trying to separate the lens of personal and professional if one can slightly divert the lens back to the reason why we made the film and what we are trying to talk about and bring to light… I think it is important,’ she added to her statement to PTI.
